Knox County's Struggle: Close to 500 Suspected Overdose Deaths in 2023
In 2023, Knox County witnessed nearly 500 suspected overdose deaths, as per data from the Knox County District Attorney's office. Notably, this is a decrease from the 511 overdose deaths in 2022 but still significantly higher than in 2016, which had 224 deaths. Resources for addiction treatment and recovery support are available for those struggling with substance misuse in the region.
The Volunteer Club's Impact on Athletes and Community
The Volunteer Club is a group that supports Tennessee athletes by providing Name, Image, & Likeness opportunities and exclusive experiences to its members. The club allocates 90% of its earnings to athletes, with the rest covering event costs. The club has collaborated with over 200 student athletes across various sports, including women's sports. It's recognized for its commitment to enhancing the community spirit and lives of individuals in Tennessee. More Info
