Back to School in Knox County on January 4th

January 4th marks the exciting return to school for students across Knox County. After a well-deserved winter break, it's time to refocus on education, rekindle friendships, and set new goals for the upcoming year.

The holiday season is a time of joy and relaxation, but it's also a crucial period for students to recharge. With the new year, our schools are eager to welcome back refreshed minds ready to engage in learning. This break provides a great opportunity for students to reflect on their achievements and areas for growth.

The beginning of a new year is synonymous with setting new goals. Students are encouraged to think about their academic and personal aspirations for 2023. Whether it's improving grades, participating more in class, or joining a new extracurricular activity, every goal is a step towards personal growth.

South Doyle High School Singers Shine in Carnegie Hall and Beyond

The South Doyle High School Singers, an audition choir of 10th-12th graders, recently performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City. They also carol annually at local schools during the holidays.

Ten students participated in the Tennessee All East Honor Choir. The school's choral department also hosts a popular Madrigal Dinner set in the 1600s, attracting over 225 community members. This year's spring musical is “Mamma Mia,” scheduled for April 18-20th, including a matinee. The choir will participate in the JB Lyle and Dollywood Choral Festivals, with their final concert on May 13th.
