Kate Douglass Sets American Record at Knoxville Pro Swim Event

Exciting news from the world of swimming as Kate Douglass made a splash at the Pro Swim series in Knoxville this Saturday. Douglass delivered a phenomenal performance in the women's 200m breaststroke, setting a new American record with a time of 2 minutes and 19.30 seconds.

Notably, Douglass, the reigning 200m medley champion from last year's World Championships in Fukuoka, outdid the previous American record of 2:19.59. This record was held by Rebecca Soni since her Olympic triumph in 2012.

What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Douglass managed to shave an impressive 1.92 seconds off her personal best. Her outstanding effort places her as the fourth-fastest swimmer globally in this category.
