A unique form of healing is taking place at the East Tennessee Children's Hospital (ETCH), where the enchanting sounds of music are offering comfort and peace to young patients.
Children at the hospital are being treated to personal concerts by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra's Music & Wellness Quartet. These performances provide a much-needed respite from the challenges these children face and offer a refreshing experience for the musicians as well.
This initiative is a new endeavor at the Children's Hospital but has already been welcomed in various medical centers across the region. These musical sessions have left lasting impressions on all who have experienced them.
Hospital staff members have expressed deep appreciation for the happiness and relief these musical moments bring to everyone in the hospital. The songs most often requested by the young audience include the touching "Amazing Grace" and the spirited "Rocky Top."
The Music Wellness program by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra has scheduled three additional performances at the Children's Hospital, continuing to spread joy and comfort through the power of music.

Teenage Carjacking Suspect Caught and Charged
The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) apprehended an 18-year-old suspect, Shaun Sullivan, following a brief chase.
The incident began just after 2 p.m. in the 1400 block of Beaumont Ave., where a woman reported her vehicle stolen at gunpoint. KPD officers located the vehicle near Reynolds Street and Western Avenue, but the suspect fled, leading to a high-speed chase.
The pursuit ended when the car crashed at the intersection of Texas Avenue and Sherman Street. Sullivan attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended behind the Emerald Youth facility on Sherman Street.
Upon arrest, Sullivan was found carrying a loaded firearm. He faces multiple charges, including carjacking, reckless driving, possession of a firearm with intent to go armed, and leaving the scene of an accident. The KPD continues to investigate the incident.
