New Honeysuckle Condo Complex to Enhance Knoxville's South Waterfront Development
The Knoxville-Knox County Planning Commission green-lit the development of Honeysuckle, an ambitious 42-unit condominium project spread across two buildings, nestled between Anita Drive and Island Home Avenue. This new complex, which will rise behind Printshop Beer Co. and adjacent to James White Parkway, is a testament to the growing allure of the south waterfront area.
This sector of the city has quickly become a focal point for development, particularly with the anticipated construction of a pedestrian bridge that will provide a direct link to the downtown core.

Rewards Offered for Wanted Fugitive After Traffic Stop Deputy Death
Early Friday morning, law enforcement officials in eastern Tennessee launched a manhunt for a suspect linked to a tragic incident that resulted in the death of one sheriff's deputy and the injury of another. The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Kenneth Dehart, is facing charges of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, and illegal firearm possession by a felon, as announced by Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong through the department's social media.
The fatal event unfolded Thursday evening during a routine traffic stop, claiming the life of Deputy Greg McCowan. In the same incident, a female officer was shot in the leg but managed to return fire. She is currently receiving medical care in a hospital.
In response to this heinous act, various organizations have come forward to contribute to a reward fund for information leading to Dehart's apprehension:
The U.S. Marshals Service has offered $10,000,
Smith & Wesson has contributed a significant $40,000,
The Knox County Sheriff's Office and Knox County Mayor's office have each pledged $10,000,
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has added $2,500, and
The Blount County Sheriff's Office has also offered $10,000.
Community members are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist in capturing the fugitive. More Info
