HonorAir Knoxville's Flight 34: A Tribute to Veterans

HonorAir Knoxville is set to embark on a remarkable journey with Flight 34, scheduled for Wednesday, April 10th. This flight represents a significant gesture of appreciation towards more than 130 East Tennessee veterans, honoring their invaluable service and sacrifices.

Departing from Knoxville at 9am, Flight 34 will transport these honored veterans to Washington, D.C., providing them an opportunity to visit the memorials dedicated to their heroic contributions during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

This entire trip, including the return to Knoxville at 7:40pm, is offered at no cost to the veterans, underscoring the community's gratitude and respect for their dedication and bravery.

Arrive early to the Welcome Home Celebration in the airport entryway near the gift shop to get a spot to participate in welcoming them home! Our Knoxville Insider co-founder and family attended a previous HonorAir welcome home, and it was the experience of a lifetime.

HonorAir Knoxville ensures that every aspect of this day is memorable, accompanying the veterans with a professional photographer and videographer to capture the profound moments of their visit, allowing them to share and preserve these memories with family and friends. More Info

North Broadway is Torn Up with Construction - Why and When Will It Be Completed?

North Broadway is starting to be reminiscent of an obstacle course. Orange barrels, potholes, and lane shifts abound. Water pipes are being replaced in advance of a repaving project. The water pipe replacement is slated to be completed by the end of March / early April.

Baby Shower Event to Support Expectant Mothers in Need

The upcoming community-wide baby shower, organized by Gennisi Charitable Birth Services, aims to support expectant mothers in need. Scheduled for April 13th, from 12pm - 2pm at the Change Center, 208 Harriett Tubman Street, it focuses on pregnant women or those with babies six months or younger.

Through her nonprofit, Ty Roberts offers comprehensive support to mothers before, during, and after childbirth, inspired by her own traumatic birthing experience. The event is part of a broader effort to provide assistance and ensure no mother feels alone. For more details or to contribute to the cause, visit www.gencharities.org or call (865) 896-9357.
