Business Doctor Tip: You Don't Have to Be a Salesperson to Get Referrals

When COVID hit, a Kingdom Impact client, an engineering firm, stopped all marketing. Instead, they put three referral systems in place, practiced them, and held weekly accountability calls. They grew more than 30% in the first year of COVID and another 27% the next. They're engineers, not salespeople. You don't need to be a high-energy closer to get referrals. You need a system.

MoonPies, Mountain Dew & Grandma's Recipes

Remember the hand-crank egg beater in your grandmother's kitchen drawer? Or the recipe card stained with years of love (and butter)? The Farragut Museum (inside Farragut Town Hall, 11408 Municipal Center Drive) is celebrating all of it in its new temporary exhibit, "Kitchen Classics," on display now through February 2027.

The exhibit features a collection of vintage kitchen utensils, household items, and cooking tools, many of them once found in nearly every American home before modern conveniences took over. It's a fun look at how cooking and food preparation have changed over the years.

For a special local touch, the exhibit includes handwritten recipes from Farragut cooks. "We all know how these recipes become family heirlooms and are passed down from generation to generation," says Kristi Vining, Historic Resources Coordinator for the Town of Farragut.

Don't miss "A Taste of Tennessee," a featured section highlighting national food brands with Tennessee roots, including Little Debbie, MoonPie, Bush's Beans, Mountain Dew, Mayfield Dairy, and JFG Coffee.

It's a great outing for history lovers, home cooks, and anyone who's ever fought over the last MoonPie. Admission is free.
