Several vehicles, including a bus from Emerald Charter Schools, exhibited damage. Authorities are currently investigating the situation, emphasizing the relief that all students aboard the bus remained unharmed.

Knoxville Sees Significant Drop in Crime Rates for Early 2024

The Knoxville Police Department reports a positive trend in crime rates for the first quarter of 2024, with significant decreases in non-fatal shootings (down 58%) and major property crimes (down 20%) compared to the same period in 2023.

Homicide rates remained steady, matching the previous year's numbers but falling below the five and ten-year averages. Despite an initial increase in robberies, a recent 31% decline indicates an improving situation. These statistics reflect the department's ongoing efforts to enhance community safety.
