Aerosmith's Farewell Tour Rocks Back - New Date Announced!
Mark your calendars! The new date for Aerosmith's highly anticipated "Peace Out" farewell concert at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center is now set for Saturday, October 5th. This comes after the original performance, planned for January, was postponed. Fans holding tickets from the January date can rest easy knowing their tickets remain valid for the October show, as confirmed by Live Nation.
Local Faith Leaders Unite to Address Knoxville Homelessness
The closure of the city's only low-barrier shelter for the homeless prompted a large gathering of over a thousand faith leaders, who met to urge city officials to address homelessness, educational, and economic instability.
With around 1,718 individuals experiencing homelessness daily in Knoxville, and an additional 258 at risk, the community emphasized the need for permanent housing solutions.
The assembly, which represents 23 local churches, advocated for a "functional zero" goal to eradicate homelessness.
Community Rallies Behind Businesses Amid North Broadway Construction
City officials in North Knoxville demonstrated support for local businesses affected by ongoing construction on North Broadway by visiting them, including Time Out Deli, which has struggled with reduced customer access due to the work.
The Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) is updating century-old infrastructure, impacting traffic and businesses near Fulton High School. The construction, causing accessibility issues for Time Out Deli, prompted city leaders, including Mayor Indya Kincannon and Councilmember Lauren Rider, to encourage community patronage to support the affected establishments.
The initiative was appreciated by the business owners, with the construction expected to conclude in June. KUB has been communicating with impacted businesses and plans to address specific concerns raised by Time Out Deli's owners.
