Vote Reversal - Farragut Board Approves Growth Policy Plan

The Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen reversed their initial rejection and approved the Advance Knox Growth Policy Plan with a 3-2 vote. Alderman Scott Meyer changed his vote after his concerns were addressed by Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs.

The approval avoids potential mediation and updates the county's 20-year-old growth strategy to preserve rural areas, ease infrastructure strain, and control development.

Pellissippi State Students Transform Shipping Container into Innovative Tiny Home

Students at Pellissippi State Community College are currently converting a shipping container into a tiny home, dubbed the Panther Pad, as part of a hands-on learning project initiated by Associate Professor Diane Riley.

The project, supported by a $10,000 grant, involves students designing and implementing their plans to create a functional living space within the container. The project aims to teach students the importance of accuracy in architectural plans and enhance their interior design skills.
