Knoxville Runner Returns to Boston Marathon
Liz Ford is preparing to run the Boston Marathon for the third time. The event requires a qualifying time of three hours and 40 minutes. Ford's participation was initially encouraged by Paul Conn, former president of Lee University, who promised to cover expenses for qualified Lee participants.
Nearly two decades later, Ford is returning to Boston and has reminded Conn of his promise, which he has agreed to honor. Ford describes completing the marathon as a deeply satisfying achievement, embodying her dedication to running.

After undergoing a life-saving transplant due to severe cystic fibrosis, Klemenz used her newfound health to fulfill a dream of running a marathon.
