Resident-Inspired Pickleball Courts and Upgrades at Corryton Park

Knox County recently inaugurated new Pickleball courts at Corryton Park, with additional upgrades to the basketball court and picnic shelter.

These improvements, inspired by a resident's suggestion sent via email to Knox County Parks, were part of a six-month project led by Joseph Mack, the senior director of Knox County Parks and Recreation.

The project, which also included updates to the concession stand and ongoing work on the ball field, was funded through the department's operational budget and aimed to better meet community needs.

Dogwood Arts Festival Returns to World’s Fair Park

The Dogwood Arts Festival is set to brighten World’s Fair Park once again from April 26th-28th. This cherished event, a cornerstone of Knoxville culture for over six decades, is brought to life each year by a dedicated team of mostly volunteer workers.

This year's festival spans three days and promises an enriching experience with a lineup of local and national vendors and artists. Attendees can look forward to live music, a variety of food trucks, and vibrant displays throughout the park's lawns and the Tennessee Amphitheater.

The festival not only celebrates the culmination of a year of hard work and commitment by the organizers but also continues to nurture and expand one of Knoxville’s grandest traditions.

Love Board Games? Check Out Fun K Town 2024 at the Knoxville Convention Center

Fun K-Town 2024 is set to take place at the Knoxville Convention Center from April 26th-28th, offering attendees a vast library of games to play and the option to bring and share their own.

The event features a welcoming community atmosphere where newcomers can join games easily and learn new ones with the help of volunteers and fellow gamers.

Highlights include the "Game of the Hour" for quick starts, "BIG Games" for longer strategic experiences, and "Play to Win" contests with games provided by sponsors.

Additionally, there's a Virtual Flea Market for buying and selling games without shipping hassles. The event requires registration and spans three days, providing ample time for gaming enthusiasts to enjoy, More Info
