Tennessee House Passes Bill to Arm Teachers, Awaiting Governor's Decision

The TN House of Representatives approved a bill that would allow teachers to carry concealed in schools, which is now awaiting Governor Lee's signature.

The bill emerged partly due to challenges faced by rural schools in securing police presence. It requires that individuals wishing to arm themselves on school premises must receive approvals from the superintendent, a principal, and the chief of police or relevant law enforcement authority, allowing school systems to maintain some control over this policy.

The legislation also stipulates that those armed must undergo yearly background checks, psychological evaluations, and complete 40 hours of training.

K-25 Reunion for Retired, Past, and Current Employees and Contractors on Saturday, April 27th

The K-25 reunion on Saturday, April 27th from 11am - 3pm is open to retirees, past and present employees, and contractors. If you worked at K-25/ETTP, BNFL, USEC/Centrus, or the Security Force, please come and invite your co-workers and work friends. Spread the word!

The location is just outside the K-25 History Museum (old K-25 Fire Hall). There will be a covered tent in the parking lot with tables and chairs, but feel free to bring your own lounge chairs if you'd like to sit around and visit.

The K-25 History Museum will be open for you to visit and will have many reminders of K-25's early days and our times together.

Lastly, some of K-25's past Plant Managers are lined up to say "hi" to those in attendance. Bob Eby has confirmed, and Harold Conner plans to attend if possible. For more info, contact (865) 804-2723 or visit the Reunion Facebook event page, which also contains a link to join the reunion Facebook group.
