Make Your Voice Heard: Vote in the August 1 Primary Elections

The primary elections for the U.S. House of Representatives, Tennessee Senate, and Tennessee House of Representatives will take place on Thursday, August 1st. Voters will choose their preferred candidates for the Republican and Democratic parties in these races, with the general election scheduled for November. Additionally, several Knox County elections will be decided through a general election on the same day.

To participate, ensure you're registered to vote by Tuesday, July 2nd. For registration details, visit sos.tn.gov/elections.

Knox County is 2nd Fastest Growing County in Tennessee

From 2022 to 2023, Knox County’s population growth made it the 2nd fastest growing county in Tennessee. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county added 5,289 residents, surpassing the half-million mark with a population of 500,669—a 1.07% increase.

This growth follows the County Commission's approval of "Advance Knox," a revised growth plan addressing zoning and infrastructure changes to support the anticipated 70,000 new residents over the next decade. Only Rutherford County saw a larger increase in the state.
