Knox Plant Fest at Marble City Market

Calling all plant enthusiasts! On Saturday, August 24th, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Marble City Market Food Hall will be transformed into a lush oasis for the Knox Plant Fest. This event is a must for anyone who loves greenery, from houseplants to herbs, vegetables, and more.

Starts Tonight - New & Exciting Knoxville Museum of Art Temporary Exhibits

Knoxville Museum of Art (KMA) is thrilled to launch an exciting new schedule of exhibitions, beginning with Jo Sandman/TRACES, opening to the public beginning Friday, August 23rd from 6pm-9pm at 1050 World Fair Park Drive. The public is warmly invited to the opening reception.

A special Members-Only hour will take place from 6pm-7pm, with a talk by Alice Sebrell, curator of TRACES, at 6:15pm. Attendees can expect to enjoy summer refreshments, a signature cocktail, and a special musical performance by Rubens Ghenov. The event is free and open to the public, More Info

Poetry as Narrative – Writing Workshop

On Wednesday, September 11th from 6pm-8pm, indulge in some tea and treats as you sharpen your writing abilities! Benefit from the expertise of exceptional UT instructors without the need to enroll in the university.

This workshop is conducted by Dr. Mary Leauna Christensen, a lecturer from the UT English Department, and is tailored for writers at any level of skill and experience, encouraging them to explore poetry as a form of storytelling. Participants will engage with contemporary poems from authors such as Natalie Diaz and Jake Skeets, followed by an opportunity to craft their own pieces.

Participants are asked to bring their preferred writing materials, be that pen/paper or laptop.

In this workshop you’ll explore a variety of delectable savory and sweet treats that may be featured on their menu. Rhonda Merrifield, an Epicure Ambassador for over four years, is passionate about sharing great food and innovative, simple ideas to make cooking enjoyable. She will guide us through the preparation and tasting of several Epicure items, accompanied by delightful tea.

Epicure’s gluten-free, peanut-free seasonings, baking blends, and more will aid in our mission to diversify the menu to accommodate our guests with dietary restrictions.
