This Friday - National POW / MIA Day Ceremony

On Friday, September 20th, the Captain Bill Robinson Chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America will conduct an observance of National POW / MIA Day. The ceremony will be held at the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial in Worlds Fair Park in downtown Knoxville.

Presented by AARP Tennessee, it will offer free coffee and biscuits at 9am, followed by the ceremony at 10am. The featured speaker will be Captain Bill Robinson, USAF (retired), the longest held enlisted POW in the history of our nation.

The colors will be presented by the Anchor Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Corps.

Members of the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard will present the Missing Man Table Ceremony and provide a rifle volley and Taps at the conclusion of the observance. The public is invited to attend

"Solastalgia," a One-of-a-Kind, Visually Stunning Spectacle

Cattywampus Puppet Council and One World Circus are thrilled to invite the Knoxville community to experience "Solastalgia," a one-of-a-kind, visually stunning spectacle that blends theater, giant puppets, marching bands, circus arts, and vertical dance.

The event takes place on Friday, October 11th, and Sunday, October 13th, from 7pm to 9pm. (doors at 6:30pm) and will move from the World’s Fair Park Amphitheater to the Festival Lawn, culminating in vertical dancing on the side of The Tennessean Hotel. Blue Ribbon County Fair: Step back in time and experience the charm of an old-fashioned country fair at the Blue Ribbon Country Fair, happening on September 28th from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center! The 9th annual Tennessee Medieval Faire invites you to travel back in time to the High Middle Ages (circa 1194 AD) to Live the Age of Chivalry with Robin Hood. The festival will open on October 5 and run for three consecutive weekends on Saturdays and Sundays. Freedom Fest
