Mark your calendars for the upcoming Friends of the Library Used Book Sale at the Cedar Bluff Branch Library, happening November 1-2 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This special sale offers an excellent chance to find books, movies, and music—all at prices you’ll love, with most items priced at $2 or less!
These sales provide valuable support to the Knox County Public Library, helping fund improvements across library branches and supporting Friends of the Library initiatives. So, whether you're hunting for a hidden gem, building up your collection, or just stopping by to browse, your purchase goes directly toward enhancing library resources for the whole community.

Meet the Feathered Ambassadors of Owl Ridge Raptor Center!
Join us on Saturday, November 9, from 10:00 AM to noon (EST) at the UT Arboretum Auditorium for a special in-person presentation by Lisa Thomison, co-founder of Owl Ridge Raptor Center. This event will introduce attendees to some of Owl Ridge’s remarkable “ambassador” birds and offer insights into the center’s essential conservation and rehabilitation work.
Owl Ridge Raptor Center is a federally and state-licensed raptor rehabilitation center and 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to caring for injured and orphaned birds of prey. Their goal is to help each bird fully recover and return to its natural habitat. For birds that cannot be released, these “ambassadors” play a vital role in raising awareness and promoting conservation efforts.
Event Details:
When: Saturday, November 9, 10:00 AM - Noon EST
Where: UT Arboretum Auditorium
Cost: Free (donations encouraged, with 100% of proceeds supporting Owl Ridge Raptor Center)
Registration: Required for each attendee; seating is limited to 100 people
