A Festive Evening at Loudon Municipal Park
Kick off the holiday season with a magical evening at Loudon Municipal Park on Friday, December 13th, starting at 5:00 PM! Enjoy a dazzling Christmas light display and a host of festive activities for the whole family.
Warm up by the bonfire with s’mores provided by Loudon United Methodist Church and grab a bite from a variety of food trucks. Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and enjoy enchanting horse-drawn carriage rides and hayrides provided by Watts Bar Lake Jellystone Park.
Kids will love the inflatables, while the evening’s entertainment will include performances by the Academy of Dance Arts Ensemble, Miss Chloe’s School of Dance, and the Loudon High School Chorus. Don’t miss a special storytime with Mrs. Claus to add a touch of holiday magic.

Owl Prowl at Ijams Nature Center
Get ready for a magical evening at Ijams Nature Center on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Discover the nocturnal world of owls and meet some of Ijams’ resident owl ambassadors before venturing out on the trails after dark.
Participants will explore the fascinating adaptations that make owls masters of the night. As you journey through the woods, you’ll learn to identify Barred, Eastern Screech, and Great Horned owls, practice their calls, and put your senses to the test in a unique nocturnal adventure.
Details:
Ages: This event is designed for participants aged 10 and up.
Accessibility: Expect to cover up to 2 miles on uneven terrain, which may include rocks, roots, and gravel, with stops along the way.

Merry and Bright: A Holiday Celebration by Appalachian Equality Chorus
The Appalachian Equality Chorus invites you to join them for their highly anticipated annual holiday concert, Merry and Bright, presented by Choice Health Network–Positively Living. This festive celebration brings together a vibrant mix of traditional carols, modern holiday hits, and joyous performances that will leave you feeling warm and bright this holiday season.
The Merry and Bright concert will take place on the following dates:
December 20th, 2024 at 8:00 PM at the Historic Bijou Theatre.
December 21st, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Historic Bijou Theatre.
This year’s concert program promises a dynamic and heartwarming mix, with everything from timeless Christmas carols to modern holiday hits by artists like Kelly Clarkson, Cher, and the Indigo Girls. The chorus will be accompanied by twirling dancers, dazzling bright costumes, and a variety of merry antics that will delight audiences of all ages.
"We're thrilled to bring together a diverse set of holiday traditions that celebrate love, joy, and unity," said Bleu Copas, the Chorus' recently appointed executive director. "This concert is not only a chance to experience beautiful music but also to connect with the uplifting spirit of the season. Whether you're a fan of classic carols or contemporary hits, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!"
