Beginner Outdoor Skills

Join Ijams Nature Center on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM for an Introductory Survival Skills Course. This hands-on workshop will teach you essential techniques to prioritize your needs in a survival scenario. From building a sturdy shelter to creating and maintaining a fire, you'll gain confidence in your ability to survive in the great outdoors.

Swing into Fun with the Knoxville Swing Dance Association!
Get ready to move and groove with the Knoxville Swing Dance Association at the Laurel Theater! Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or someone who’s never set foot on the dance floor, Wednesday nights are the perfect opportunity to learn and enjoy swing dancing in a welcoming and energetic community.
7:00 PM: Special January Level Up (for experienced dancers)
7:30 PM: Beginner Drop-In Lesson (Level 0) – No partner or experience required!
8:00–10:00 PM: Open Dancing
This beginner-friendly class will have you dancing with confidence on your very first night! Stick around after the lessons for two hours of open dancing to lively swing tunes.
