From Garden to Sacred Smoke
Date: Saturday, March 1
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: Garden Club Room (lower level of the Howell House Visitors Center)
Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring the art of natural smoke medicine preparations. Participants will learn about the medicinal properties and ancient energetics of botanical smoke medicines while crafting their own custom blends using materials from the garden and Tennessee wilds.
What You’ll Create & Take Home:
Loose Incense
Incense Cones (students should bring a container for drying)
Smudge Sticks
Informational packet with class notes and topics
This workshop, led by holistic medicine practitioner Fig Finkelstein, offers an opportunity to explore alternatives to commercial fragrances using materials from nature. Smoke medicines can support mental health, relaxation, and balance, helping to create a Zen atmosphere in your home.

Dogwood Arts Chalk Walk Returns to Downtown Knoxville
The 17th Annual Dogwood Arts Chalk Walk is set to bring Downtown Knoxville to life on Saturday, April 5, 2025! This beloved event draws thousands of art enthusiasts each year to witness a live art competition where the sidewalks become a canvas for over 300 talented artists and teams.
Artists will work on-site from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, transforming Market Square, Krutch Park, and surrounding areas into vibrant works of chalk art. The event concludes with an awards ceremony at 7:00 PM on the Market Square Stage.
