Ijams 10th Annual Mayapple Marketplace
March 30 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Ijams Nature Center
Spring is here, and it’s time to bring your garden to life! Ijams Nature Center’s Mayapple Marketplace is the perfect place to find everything you need to kick off the season.
What to Expect:
Local Plant Nurseries & Gardening Vendors – Discover beautiful plants, flowers, and expert advice to enhance your garden.
Nature-Inspired Handmade Goods – Browse unique art, crafts, and home décor from talented local artists.
Food Trucks & Refreshments – Enjoy delicious bites while you shop and explore.
Ijams Gift Shop – Open during the event, featuring handcrafted goods from over 100 local artists!
The marketplace will take place at the Visitor Center, lawn, and plaza—so come ready to shop, explore, and celebrate spring!

Tulip Festival at Oakes Farm
Spring is in the air, and we’re thrilled to welcome you back for a season of stunning tulips, delicious treats, and family-friendly fun! Our official opening day is March 22nd, with tickets currently available through April 6th. If the tulips keep blooming, we’ll extend the season—so stay tuned!
Open Days & Hours:
Tuesday – Friday: 11 AM – 7 PM
Saturday: 10 AM – 7 PM
Sunday: 12 PM – 7 PM

Cut Tulip Availability
While most tulips are for admiring only, we have a designated cutting field where you can hand-pick blooms to take home! Please note: A vase purchase is required. Tulips are available while supplies last, and we’ll provide updates on our social channels—so be sure to check before you visit!

Spring Hike & Bird of the Year Kickoff at Seven Islands State Birding Park
Join us for a guided Spring Hike at Seven Islands State Birding Park as we celebrate the kickoff of our Bird of the Year – the Pileated Woodpecker!
March 22, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Bluebird Barn (Main Entrance on Kelly Lane)
About the Hike:
Led by park staff, this 2-2.5 mile hike is an easy to moderate trek along the scenic trails of Seven Islands. Along the way, participants will learn about ongoing conservation efforts focused on protecting local bird species, especially grassland birds.
Cost: Free! However, donations to support the park are greatly appreciated.
⚠️ Pre-Registration is REQUIRED!

Comfortable hiking shoes
Weather-appropriate clothing
Check-In Details:
Plan to arrive by 10:00 AM and check in at the Friends of Seven Islands information table near the Bluebird Barn before the hike begins.
