Make Music Knoxville Returns with Free Community-Wide Celebration

Get ready for a day filled with rhythm, harmony, and pure joy—Make Music Knoxville is back on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM, offering a lively lineup of free, public musical events across the city.

Produced by the Arts and Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville, Make Music Knoxville is part of Make Music Day, a global celebration held annually on the first day of summer in over 150 U.S. cities and dozens of countries. Unlike traditional music festivals, anyone can perform and everyone is invited to join in and enjoy the music.

Expect a diverse mix of genres—from classical to punk rock, folk to hip hop—echoing through Knoxville’s sidewalks, parks, porches, and public spaces. It’s a celebration of community, creativity, and connection through music.

Any musician, amateur or professional, young or old, is invited to take part by signing up at www.makemusicday.org/Knoxville; registration closes on June 2. Likewise, downtown businesses, buildings, and institutions can also get involved by offering their outdoor spaces as concert venues through the same website.

A detailed schedule of performances will be posted on the website as events are confirmed.

Originally founded in 2021 by musician Nicholas Horner, Make Music Knoxville continues to grow under the guidance of the Arts and Culture Alliance. Executive Director Liza Zenni shares, “Music has the power to unite and uplift people across Knoxville. Make Music Knoxville is a reminder that music is a vehicle for joy.”

Whether you're a seasoned performer, a curious listener, or a local business eager to support the arts, mark your calendars and join the celebration on June 21!
