Join the Knoxville community for a powerful day of remembrance, celebration, and unity at the 2025 MLK March/Parade and Juneteenth Celebration! This vibrant annual tradition honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and celebrates African American freedom, heritage, and culture.

Parade Line-Up
Where: Chilhowee Park
When: Line-up begins at 8:30 AM | Step-Off at 10:00 AM

Following the parade, the festivities continue at:

Juneteenth Celebration
Where: Dr. Walter Hardy Park, 2089 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, Knoxville, TN
When: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Enjoy live entertainment, music, delicious food, local vendors, and family-friendly fun! Last year, over 1,000 attendees and 50 vendors made it an unforgettable celebration—don’t miss your chance to be part of it this year.

Smoky Mountain Quilters 2025 Quilt Show: A Celebration of Craft and Creativity

Get ready to be dazzled by color, creativity, and craftsmanship at the Smoky Mountain Quilters 2025 Quilt Show, happening June 20–21 at the Knoxville Expo Center, 5441 Clinton Highway. This annual event brings together over 200 stunning quilts from across the country, all competing for more than $7,800 in prize money!

Event Dates & Times

  • June 20 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • June 21 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Quilt Competition
Quilts will compete across 14 categories, including a special Junior Division (age 16 and under) and 14 special awards. Entry submissions open January 1 and close April 12 (or once capacity is reached)—so submit early if you want to participate!

  • Antique Quilt Turning (Friday at 11 AM & 1 PM) with Merikay Waldvogel, Jan Wass, and Cindy Stuart

  • “Go Tell It!” Storytelling Project with the Quilt Alliance – share your quilt stories for preservation

Celebrate Tennessee Statehood Day at Mabry-Hazen House

Join the celebration of Tennessee’s 229th Statehood Day with a special Open House at the historic Mabry-Hazen House! In honor of Tennessee’s admission to the Union on June 1, 1796, the house will offer free tours of the beautifully preserved home and grounds from 10 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, May 31.

Explore East Tennessee history as living historians bring the past to life with stories, artifacts, and demonstrations.
