Electricity for All: A Provocative Exhibition at the Knox Museum of Art

The Knox Museum of Art invites you to experience "Electricity for All," a powerful and thought-provoking exhibition exploring the intricate relationship between technology, information, and power. Rooted in the historical context of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)—a pivotal New Deal program that brought electricity to the Tennessee River Valley in the 1930s—this exhibition brings together a diverse group of artists whose work challenges the social and political implications of technological progress.

More Than Just Light Bulbs
“Electricity for All” doesn’t just look at the literal electrification of the region. It dives deep into how access to technology reshaped communities, redefined power structures, and sometimes erased older narratives in favor of new ones. This multi-media exhibition raises essential questions about whose stories are told, whose are forgotten, and how technology influences the telling.

With contributions from renowned and emerging contemporary artists, the exhibit includes installations, digital art, sculpture, and video works that offer compelling critiques and reflections on how electricity has shaped—and continues to shape—culture, society, and identity.

Don’t miss your chance to see "Electricity for All" before it closes on August 17. Whether you're a history buff, a tech enthusiast, or an art lover, this exhibition promises a dynamic exploration of power in all its forms. More Info
