Aimee’s Bohemian – A Colorful Treasure on Sutherland Avenue

I stumbled upon the coolest little shop today—Aimee’s Bohemian on Sutherland Avenue—and I just had to share! If you’re drawn to bold colors, natural fabrics, and that effortlessly artsy-boho style, this is a must-visit.

The shop is packed with vibrant, free-spirited clothing in natural materials that feel just as good as they look. From flowing peasant dresses to unique tops, everything radiates personality. I snagged a beautiful shirt and the most amazing peasant dress—and my daughter scored a pair of colorful pants she absolutely loves!

But it’s not just about the clothes—Aimee’s also has stunning jewelry, from rings to nose rings, that perfectly complement their bohemian vibe.

Best of all, for the thrifty fashionistas, there’s a $10 rack and a $5 treasure chest filled with fun finds at bargain prices!

If you love supporting local businesses and want to add a little boho magic to your wardrobe, make sure to swing by Aimee’s Bohemian. You never know what treasures you’ll find! More Info

Celebrating the Longest Day of the Year

The Summer Solstice, also known as Midsummer, marks the longest day and shortest night of the year. Occurring around June 20–21 in the Northern Hemisphere, it happens when the Earth's axial tilt is at its maximum toward the sun, giving us more daylight than any other time of year.

This celestial event has been celebrated for thousands of years by cultures across the globe. Ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Druids, Greeks, Romans, and Chinese all recognized the solstice with rituals honoring the sun’s power and the changing seasons.

In England, Stonehenge—a prehistoric monument aligned with the sunrise on the solstice—continues to draw thousands for this special occasion. In Scandinavia, Midsummer festivals include maypole dancing, bonfires, and feasting. Native American tribes also held ceremonies to honor the sun, such as the Sun Dance.

The Summer Solstice has traditionally symbolized growth, abundance, and fertility, aligning with the peak of the agricultural season. Even today, many people use this time to reflect, set intentions, and celebrate the light.
