A Simple Post Brings Knoxville Together for a Heartwarming Surprise

In today’s world, sometimes all it takes is a single post to ignite the spirit of a community. That was certainly the case this week, when a heartfelt Facebook post sparked a wave of support that culminated in a special moment for a local man who has given so much to his community.

Mr. Roach, a lifelong University of Tennessee Vols fan and beloved former pee-wee football coach, has always had the Vols close to his heart. The games, the team, the spirit—they’ve been a central part of his life for years. So when Caris Healthcare shared a simple post on Facebook, asking for help to bring Mr. Roach’s dream to life, the response was overwhelming.

Within 24 hours, the community rallied together, and what started as a heartfelt request turned into an unforgettable day for Mr. Roach and his family.

Thanks to a Halls Facebook group member reaching out to UT Linebacker Arion Carter's mom Sheteka, she let her son know about the request. Arion then rallied his teammates, and Sheteka contacted Caris Healthcare to coordinate making Mr. Roach's dream came true.

The players visited Caris Healthcare, spending time with him and his loved ones, and showing him the same care and respect he’s given to so many throughout his life. The athletes made sure that his passion for the game was celebrated, creating a memory that will forever be etched in the hearts of all those involved.
