Shakespeare Under the Stars

The Tennessee Stage Company proudly presents the 35th Shakespeare Festival, Knoxville Shakespeare, featuring two of the Bard’s most beloved plays: Love’s Labour’s Lost and Hamlet, Prince of Denmark.

Enjoy these timeless tales performed by an outstanding local cast under the summer sky. The festival runs from July 17th through August 10th at Ijams Nature Center, 2915 Island Home Ave.

Performance Schedule:

  • Love’s Labour’s Lost
    July 17, 19, 25, 27, 31; August 2, 8, 10
    7:30 PM nightly; 2:00 PM indoor matinee on July 27

  • Hamlet, Prince of Denmark
    July 18, 20, 24, 26; August 1, 3, 7, 9
    7:30 PM nightly; 2:00 PM indoor matinee on August 3

Tickets are $15 for adults; children under 15 are free with the Penny4theArts program. Thursday evening performances are Pay-What-You-Can. Free parking is available 30 minutes before showtime. More Info

Choice Health Network Promotes Haley Emitt to Director of Client Services in Knoxville

Choice Health Network (CHN) announced the promotion of Haley Emitt to Director of Client Services in Knoxville. Emitt, a Knoxville native, has been an integral part of the organization since 2018, starting as a Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Coordinator. In her new role, she will continue to lead the Knoxville case management team while taking on additional administrative responsibilities.

Emitt holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee and is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Tennessee. She has been actively involved in the local community, serving as the membership chair for the East Tennessee Community HIV/AIDS Partnership (TNCHAP) and as a Governing Council member for the Tennessee Valley Continuum of Care. Emitt also serves as a field instructor for the UT College of Social Work.

Where’s Waldo in Downtown Knoxville

Through July 31st, Downtown Knoxville invites adventurers of all ages to embark on the 8th annual "Where’s Waldo?" scavenger hunt. This free, family-friendly event encourages people to explore local businesses in search of the elusive Waldo hidden in plain sight.

Start your journey by collecting a Waldo Passport at participating locations throughout downtown. Search for Waldo, the distinctive character in his red-and-white striped shirt and bobble hat, hidden within the location. Each time you find Waldo, ask the store staff for a stamp in your passport. Collect stamps from at least 20 different locations to be eligible for prize drawings.

The first 750 participants to complete their passport can claim a "Found Waldo Knox" sticker at Union Ave Books, the official host location. More Info

Hi-Wire Brewing Hosts Used Book Sale Benefiting Knox County Library
