Boating Safety Course Coming to Jefferson City

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will host the BOAT AMERICA boating safety course on Saturday, September 6th, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. at Carson-Newman University, 1645 Russell Avenue, Jefferson City.
The $25 course (plus a $10 TWRA permit) teaches boaters how to prepare, operate, and navigate safely on Tennessee waters. Anyone born on or after January 1st, 1989 who passes the exam will receive a card meeting the Tennessee Boater Education Certificate requirement.

Grab your clubs and join the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation (ETKF) for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and fundraising at Golfing for Kidneys on Thursday, September 18th, from 2:00–5:00 PM. The event will be held at Topgolf Knoxville (11400 Outlet Drive, Farragut).
This signature event combines friendly competition with a powerful mission—supporting patients in East Tennessee who are living with kidney disease. Proceeds help ETKF provide transportation to dialysis treatments, emergency assistance, and other critical services that improve quality of life for patients and families in our community.
Whether you’re an experienced golfer or just in it for the fun, Golfing for Kidneys is a great way to enjoy an afternoon at Topgolf while making a meaningful impact.
