New Mural Added to Farragut Museum

A new mural has been added to the first gallery of the Farragut Museum. The mural, painted by local artist Ella Pinchok, depicts items found throughout the Museum such as the USS Hartford, swords, anchors, lanterns, etc.  Admiral Farragut’s famous quote, “Full Speed Ahead” and four stars to represent the rank of the admiral of the United States Navy are also included.

Pinchok is the founder of Ella Pinchok Art and is a graduate of Farragut High School.  She has painted murals for other local businesses such as Summer Moon Coffee and 35 North.  She is currently a student at the University of Tennessee studying music education, and she also performs in the Pride of the Southland Marching Band.

The Farragut Museum is charged with preserving the heritage of the Farragut and Concord communities.  It has an extensive collection of Admiral David Farragut artifacts, and an exhibit on the Battle of Campbell Station, a Civil War Battle fought in Farragut in 1863.  The Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday 11 am – 2 pm.
