Gibbs Middle School Hosts Wings & Wheels Car Show to Support Student Trips

Start your engines for a great cause! Gibbs Middle School is hosting its annual Wings & Wheels Car Show on Saturday, October 18th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 7825 Tazewell Pike, Corryton. Gates open at 8:30 AM, and all proceeds from the event will help fund student educational trips.

This family-friendly event will feature goody bags, a silent auction, music, food trucks, vendors, and plenty of fun for car enthusiasts and community members alike. Car owners can enter their vehicles for just $20 at the gate, with trophies and door prizes up for grabs. Whether you’re showing off your ride or just coming to admire the classics, the Wings & Wheels Car Show is the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning while supporting local students.

Hallelujah Hoedown at East Knox County Elementary

Celebrate fall with friends, family, and neighbors at the Hallelujah Hoedown, happening Friday, October 31st from 6:00–8:00 PM at East Knox County Elementary School (9315 Rutledge Pike, Mascot). This free, community-wide event promises a night of fun, laughter, and fellowship for all ages.

Guests can enjoy free hotdogs (while supplies last), a cake walk, exciting games and inflatables, Trunk-or-Treating, and special giveaways throughout the evening. Everything is completely free, making it the perfect safe and family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween. Bring your costume, your sweet tooth, and your community spirit for a night full of joy, candy, and connection at the Hallelujah Hoedown!

Get ready for a week of tail-wagging fun as Zoom Room celebrates its 2nd birthday with a Weeklong Birthday Bash, happening Sunday, October 12th–Saturday, October 18th! The celebration combines tricks, treats, and plenty of puppy playtime for a week packed with excitement and community spirit.

Each day brings something special — from “Trick for a Treat” on Sunday the 12th and free birthday donuts on Monday the 13th, to $5 intro training classes on Tuesday the 14th where pups can try agility, rally, or puplates.

On Sunday, October 26th, join Ijams Nature Center at 1:00 PM for their annual Fall Foliage Hike, an ideal way to immerse yourself in the vibrant reds, golds, and oranges of East Tennessee in peak season. The hike departs from Ijams’ Meads Quarry Trailhead, offering participants the chance to explore scenic trails and capture the beauty of nature as it transitions into winter.

Led by knowledgeable naturalists, the hike includes insights into tree species, leaf-change science, and the ecology of the habitat. All skill levels are welcome, making it a great activity for families, solo walkers, or anyone craving a peaceful outing in nature.

Step Into the Magic at Ijams Enchanted Forest

Get ready for a night of whimsical wonder at Ijams Nature Center on Saturday, October 25th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Ijams Enchanted Forest. The Meads Quarry, part of Ijams’ forest preserve, will be transformed into a glowing, family-friendly Halloween celebration filled with seasonal crafts, games, trick-or-treating, and enchanting encounters.

Attendees can come in costume and tour the forest path, collecting candy and goodies along the way, engaging in activities, meeting Ijams Animal Ambassadors such as owls, turtles, and snakes, and exploring themed features throughout the Enchanted Forest.
