A Soundwalk Through the City: Unsilent Night
Experience the magic of music, community, and the holidays in an entirely new way at A Soundwalk Through the City, a free, family-friendly outdoor music event where you become part of the performance!
Join Nief-Norf for Unsilent Night, an immersive soundwalk created by composer Phil Kline. Since its debut in 1992, this global music tradition has transformed streets around the world into shimmering, mobile sound sculptures.
Participants each play one of four interlocking tracks on their phones or portable speakers. When everyone presses play together and begins to walk, the city itself becomes a surround-sound concert — a beautiful, ever-changing soundscape that’s different from every step and perspective.
All ages are welcome — bring your friends, family, and curiosity for sound and community. No musical experience required! Celebrate the holiday season creatively and experience the joy of togetherness in a uniquely Nief-Norf way.
