Knoxville Community Band Christmas Spectacular

Kick off the holiday season with joy, music, and community spirit at the Knoxville Community Band’s annual Christmas Spectacular! This free concert will take place on December 7th at 3 pm at Bearden Middle School (1000 Francis Rd), and promises an afternoon filled with festive favorites and heartwarming holiday classics.

In addition to the music, the band is hosting a food drive to support Fish Hospitality Pantries, an organization dedicated to helping local families in need. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to contribute to this important cause.

This beloved annual tradition is a wonderful way to celebrate the season while giving back to the community. So gather your family, invite your friends, and come enjoy an uplifting afternoon of Spectacular Music and holiday cheer — all for a great cause!

Corryton Christmas Light Contest and Tour Brightens the Holidays!

It’s time to deck the halls — and your front yard! The Corryton Community Club proudly presents the annual Corryton Christmas Light Contest and Tour, spreading cheer across the 37721 area while supporting a great cause: the Corryton Hospitality Food Pantry.

This beloved community tradition invites residents to showcase their most creative and festive holiday light displays. Homes across Corryton will shine bright nightly from December 7th through December 31st, between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm, offering families and visitors a dazzling Christmas tour of local lights and holiday spirit.

Residents living in the 37721 zip code are encouraged to participate!

  • Entry Fee: $10 per house (a portion benefits the Corryton Hospitality Food Pantry)

  • Entry Deadline: November 26th

  • Decorations Completed By: December 4th for judging

  • Judging Dates: December 5th–6th

  • Winners Announced: December 13th at the Corryton Christmas Parade

Participants’ homes will be added to the Corryton Holiday Light Road Map, allowing neighbors and visitors to take self-guided tours of the area’s most festive displays.

One of Knoxville’s most heartwarming holiday traditions is back! TinyTrees—those cheerful, kid-themed mini Christmas trees lovingly decorated by community groups—will soon brighten the halls of East Tennessee Children’s Hospital (ETCH). November 17th from 6–8 PM is the one and only night to drop off your decorated TinyTree at ETCH (2018 Clinch Ave)! More Info

Join the McClung Museum, UT’s Department of English, Denbo Center for the Humanities & the Arts, and UT’s Creative Writing Program for a special evening with award-winning poet Annie Wenstrup (Dena’ina) on November 18th. A light reception begins at 5 p.m., followed by Wenstrup’s reading at 6 p.m. in the Frank H. McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture auditorium on the UT campus. As the leaves fall and planting season begins, Dogwood Arts is once again inspiring East Tennesseans to dig in and help Keep Knoxville Blooming through its beloved Bazillion Blooms campaign. Bare-root trees, standing 2–4 feet tall, are available for $25 each or $20 each when purchasing five or more, with your choice of white or pink blooms.
