Music lovers and culture seekers are gearing up for one of Knoxville’s most distinctive events of the year. From March 26th–29th, the Big Ears Festival transforms downtown Knoxville into an immersive experience featuring a rich blend of music, film, conversation, and visual art.

Founded in 2009 and regarded as one of the country’s most adventurous music festivals, Big Ears defies easy categorization by spanning genres and artistic approaches. Over the course of four days, attendees will experience nearly 250 performances, screenings, talks, and installations across more than 20 venues, including historic theaters, art galleries, churches, and clubs scattered throughout the heart of the city.

The festival encompasses contemporary classical, jazz, experimental, rock, ambient soundscapes, folk traditions, and more, bringing together iconic artists and bold new voices from around the globe. Get ready for a day of global fun, food, art, and entertainment! The 27th Annual International Festival returns on February 28th6, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Children's Museum of Oak Ridge (461 West Outer Drive, Oak Ridge).

This community tradition invites visitors of all ages to explore the vibrant cultures of the world through lively performances, hands-on crafts, international cuisine, music, and dance. Families and friends can stroll through exhibits and activities that celebrate diversity, creativity, and learning — all in one engaging, interactive space.

Throughout the day, guests will experience colorful cultural displays, live entertainment representing countries from around the globe, and opportunities to sample international flavors. Children can participate in hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and appreciation for traditions beyond their own backyard.

The International Festival is one of the Museum’s signature annual events and serves as an important fundraiser supporting exhibits and educational programming throughout the year. Members of the Children’s Museum receive free admission, and tickets for the general public are available in advance.

Looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day with something truly magical? Ancient Lore Village invites couples to step into a fairytale setting with its Love & Lore Valentine Dinner, offered on select evenings through February 17th, at 6:00 PM.

Designed for guests ages 21 and up, this enchanting dining experience blends romance, candlelight, and the soft glow of fairy lights in the Village’s beautifully designed outdoor setting. As twilight settles over the grounds, couples can wander the whimsical pathways before settling into a heated, enclosed venue that keeps the evening cozy and comfortable—even in winter.

The four-course dinner begins with a shared appetizer of warm spinach dip and fresh bruschetta served with crostini—perfect for lingering and conversation. A mixed berry salad topped with feta and white balsamic dressing follows, leading into a hearty entrée featuring a 6oz Pure Angus beef steak grilled to perfection and finished with rosemary demi.
