TODAY - Free Workshop Explores the Truth Behind Weight Loss & Metabolic Health

If you’ve ever felt frustrated trying to lose weight despite doing “everything right,” an upcoming educational workshop aims to offer answers and a fresh perspective.
“The Weight Loss & Disease Lie,” happening TODAY at 11:30 AM, will be held at Haven Animal Chiropractic (11320 Kingston Pike). Hosted by Chronically Healthy LLC in partnership with Haven Chiropractic & Wellness, this event focuses on helping attendees better understand the root causes behind metabolic health challenges, including stubborn weight gain, fatigue, and confusing lab results.
Many people are familiar with common health advice such as counting calories, lowering cholesterol numbers, or simply taking supplements. However, this workshop explores whether those messages are addressing the true underlying issues. Organizers will discuss topics including insulin resistance, why focusing only on glucose numbers may miss the bigger picture, and what actually drives sustainable fat loss and metabolic healing.
The session is designed for individuals who feel stuck — whether they are eating less without seeing results, feeling exhausted despite healthy habits, or confused by medical information that suggests everything is “normal” while they still don’t feel well.
Attendees can expect an informative, educational environment focused on understanding how metabolism works and what factors may influence long-term health outcomes. The goal is to help participants leave with clearer insight into their bodies and practical knowledge they can apply moving forward.
The event is open to the public, and those interested in learning more about metabolic health are encouraged to attend.
Nuclear Fusion Technology 2026 - From Scientific Dream to Industrial Reality

Professionals and technology enthusiasts have the opportunity to explore one of the most exciting frontiers in modern science during an upcoming presentation titled Nuclear Fusion Technology 2026: From Scientific Dream to Industrial Reality on March 9th, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (401 W. Summit Hill Drive).
The presentation will be led by Libin Babu, PE, MEng, Senior Mechanical Engineer with Type One Energy Group, Inc., who will provide a comprehensive technical overview of how nuclear fusion is transitioning from a decades-long scientific pursuit into a commercially viable energy solution.
Fusion energy has long been considered the “holy grail” of clean power — offering the potential for abundant, carbon-free electricity with inherent safety advantages. During the session, attendees will learn how fusion works at a fundamental level, including how energy is produced by fusing light nuclei such as deuterium and tritium. The presentation will also compare fusion technology with traditional nuclear fission and explain why fusion is gaining massive global investment as a potential baseload energy source for the future.
The discussion will cover both the scientific principles and the engineering challenges involved in bringing fusion power to industrial reality, making it valuable for engineers, students, business leaders, and anyone interested in energy innovation and emerging technologies.
The event includes a buffet luncheon for $15, along with complimentary parking validation for attendees.
As global demand for reliable, clean energy continues to grow, advancements in fusion technology could reshape how the world powers homes, industries, and communities. This presentation offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from an industry professional working at the forefront of that transformation. More Info

Dancing in the Street - The Music of Motown Comes to Life with Knoxville Symphony Orchestra

Get ready for a night of unforgettable hits, soulful rhythms, and pure musical nostalgia as the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra presents Dancing in the Street - The Music of Motown — a high-energy concert celebrating the legendary sound that defined a generation.
This exciting performance brings the timeless music of Motown to the stage with the power of a full symphony orchestra, accompanied by dynamic vocalists who will perform some of the most beloved songs in music history. Audiences can expect iconic favorites made famous by artists like The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, and more — all reimagined with rich orchestral arrangements that elevate the classic sound.
The concert will take place at the historic Tennessee Theatre (100 S. Gay Street) in downtown Knoxville, a beautifully restored 1928 movie palace that serves as one of the city’s premier performing arts venues and home to the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.
Founded in 1935, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra is one of the oldest continuing orchestras in the Southeast and continues to bring world-class performances to East Tennessee audiences throughout the year.
“Dancing in the Street” is designed to be both a concert and a celebration — a chance to sing along, clap along, and relive the golden era of Motown music with friends and family. The program blends orchestral artistry with pop and soul energy, creating an experience that appeals to longtime symphony fans and Motown lovers alike.
Performances like this showcase how orchestras can bridge musical genres, bringing familiar songs to life in new and exciting ways while honoring the legacy of artists who shaped American music culture.
Whether you grew up with Motown or are discovering it for the first time, this concert promises a joyful evening filled with rhythm, memories, and music that truly gets you dancing in the street. More Info & Tickets
Learn to Grow Food Off the Grid at Hydroponics Workshop

If you’ve ever been curious about growing your own food without relying on electricity or traditional gardening methods, an upcoming free workshop in Maynardville offers the perfect opportunity to learn. Ailor Gap Farms is hosting an Off-Grid Hydroponic Workshop for Beginners on March 14th, providing hands-on education in a practical farm setting.
The workshop will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Ailor Gap Farms (740 Ailor Gap Road, Maryville). This outdoor event is weather-permitting, and attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or bucket for seating during the session.
Designed specifically for beginners, the workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals of hydroponics — including what it is, how it works, and how off-grid systems can be used to grow food without pumps or electricity. Organizers will also cover the Kratky method, a simple and increasingly popular approach to hydroponic growing that requires minimal equipment and maintenance.
Participants will learn about what crops can successfully be grown using off-grid systems, realistic startup costs, and what to expect when implementing these methods at home. Because the workshop is hosted at a working farm, attendees will also benefit from real-world tips and practical insights from experienced growers.
The event is free and open to anyone interested in sustainable living, gardening, homesteading, or food independence. Whether you’re looking to reduce grocery bills, become more self-sufficient, or simply try something new, this workshop offers valuable knowledge in an accessible and welcoming environment.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to contact the organizers or respond to the event to help with planning.
