The Halls High School Class of 1976 is preparing to celebrate a major milestone with its 50th Class Reunion on April 24th, from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM at the Oak Ridge Event Center (100 Melton Lake Peninsula, Oak Ridge).

Classmates will gather for an evening of reconnecting, reminiscing, and celebrating five decades since their graduation. The reunion will provide an opportunity for former classmates to catch up, share memories, and enjoy time together in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

The event will feature casual dress and a cash bar, with dinner provided by Calhoun’s. Tickets are $25 per person, and organizers encourage classmates to RSVP in advance to help finalize event details.

Those planning to attend are asked to submit payment by April 15. Payments can be mailed by check to K. Bright, 4521 Alan Springs Lane, Knoxville, TN 37938, or attendees may pay by credit or debit card by emailing their first, maiden, and last name along with a phone number to Kathy Cox Southers at [email protected].

The reunion promises to be a memorable evening celebrating friendships, shared experiences, and the lasting connections formed at Halls High School more than 50 years ago.

The Knoxville Smokies are inviting local singers and performers to step up to the microphone by submitting auditions to perform the National Anthem during the team’s 2026 baseball season.

The team is currently accepting video submissions from individuals or groups who would like the opportunity to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before a Smokies home game. Participants can submit an audition by uploading a video or sharing a link to a video through the Smokies’ official audition page.

Selected performers will have the chance to showcase their talent in front of thousands of baseball fans at Covenant Health Park downtown, home of the Knoxville Smokies Minor League Baseball team.

The opportunity is open to singers of all ages and styles, whether performing solo or as part of a group. Performing the anthem at a Smokies game offers a memorable experience and a chance for local talent to be part of game-day traditions before the first pitch.

Comedy fans in East Tennessee can look forward to a unique night of laughter when comedian Don McMillan performs live at the Clayton Center for the Arts in Maryville on March 20th at 7:30 PM in the Ronald and Lynda Nutt Theatre.

McMillan is widely known for his unconventional comedy style that blends stand-up humor with charts, graphs, and slides in what he calls “the funniest PowerPoint presentation you will ever see.” A former engineer who worked in the tech industry before turning to comedy, McMillan uses his analytical background to poke fun at everyday life, technology, and the quirks of modern culture.

His career includes winning the San Francisco International Comedy Competition and appearances on The Tonight Show, HBO, Comedy Central, and America’s Got Talent, where he reached the Top 12 and performed in the finals. His viral comedy videos and clever presentations have also made him a favorite performer at corporate events for major companies such as Apple, IBM, and Google.

Women across East Tennessee are invited to gather for a night of encouragement, laughter, and worship during The Unknown Tour, coming to Salem Baptist Church (8201 Hill Road) on May 2nd from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

The Unknown Tour is a traveling women’s event designed to create a fun “girls’ night out” atmosphere while sharing messages of faith and encouragement. The evening blends clean comedy, live worship music, and inspiring speakers, all centered around navigating life’s uncertainties and trusting God through the unknown.

The event was created by comedian and speaker Lauren Lucille, who launched the tour after feeling called to encourage women facing seasons of uncertainty. Since its beginning, the tour has traveled to churches across the country, bringing women together for a night focused on faith, connection, and joy.

Throughout the evening, attendees will experience a mix of music, teaching sessions, and comedic performances designed to inspire women to choose faith over fear when facing life’s unknown moments.
