Celebrate 10 Years of Trees Knoxville with a Fun-Filled Community Event

Knoxville residents are invited to raise a glass—and plant a tree - as Trees Knoxville celebrates a decade of impact with a special 10-Year FUN-raiser on April 12th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Xül Beer Company.
This family-friendly event brings together the community for an afternoon of fun, education, and environmental action, all in support of Knoxville’s growing urban tree canopy.
Over the past 10 years, Trees Knoxville has played a vital role in expanding and protecting green spaces across the city through initiatives like Canopies for Campus and Volunteer Forester training. This celebration highlights those accomplishments while inviting the community to be part of what comes next.
The event will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including a tree adoption event, where attendees can take home a tree and contribute directly to Knoxville’s landscape, a silent auction with items from local supporters, Games & family-friendly activities, and a chance to connect with volunteers and learn more about local environmental efforts
In addition, a portion of beer sales during the event will be donated to Trees Knoxville, making it easy to support the cause while enjoying the afternoon.
Whether you’re passionate about sustainability, looking for a fun outing with the family, or just want to celebrate a local organization making a difference, this event offers something for everyone.
Come out, enjoy the atmosphere, and be part of growing Knoxville’s future—one tree at a time. More Info
Spring Plant Sale Supports a Meaningful Mission

Get your garden ready while supporting a great cause at the Special Growers Spring Plant Sale on April 11th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Held at 135 Milligan Road in Maryville, this annual event features a wide variety of locally grown plants, including tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and flowering plants—perfect for gardeners looking to kick off the spring season.
What makes this sale especially meaningful is the mission behind it. Special Growers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young adults with disabilities through inclusive job training and employment opportunities. Through hands-on work in growing, harvesting, and preparing plants and products, participants gain valuable skills that build confidence, independence, and long-term success.
The plants available at the sale are grown and cared for by the organization’s staff, volunteers, and program participants. In addition to the plant sale, Special Growers regularly supplies fresh herbs and cut flowers to local restaurants and venues across Blount and Knox County—making a real impact in both the community and local economy.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting started, this event offers a great selection of plants along with the opportunity to support a program that’s changing lives.
Stop by, pick out your spring favorites, and help grow something bigger than your garden. More Info
