The 2026 Marquee Awards take place on May 17th at 3:30 PM at the Tennessee Theatre (604 S Gay St), celebrating the best of East Tennessee high school musical theatre. Students and productions from schools within a two-hour drive of Knoxville are nominated across a wide range of categories — Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress, choreography, set design, costume design, backstage work, and more.

What makes it truly special: the winners of Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress earn the opportunity to represent East Tennessee at the Jimmy Awards in New York City — the national high school musical theatre competition held on Broadway. For many of these young performers, it's a career-defining moment.

The New Orleans hip-hop icon Juvenile brings his Boiling Point Album Release Tour to The Mill & Mine (227 W Depot Ave) on May 12th at 7:00 PM, performing alongside his longtime backing group The 400 Degreez Band. Boiling Point is his first solo project in ten years, and by all accounts it's a full return to form — high-energy, bounce-driven, and built for a crowd that knows every word.
