On May 12th from 8:30 AM–9:30 AM at Tate's School (9215 Bob Gray Road), the Foundation will officially open applications for their First Responder Student Scholarship for the 2026–2027 school year — a full-tuition award worth approximately $19,000. To celebrate, the Knox County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit will demonstrate odor detection on campus while the KCSO Aviation team lands a helicopter on the school lawn. Come for the announcement, stay for the show.

The scholarship is open to children of Fire-Rescue, Law Enforcement, EMT, and Military Personnel, ages 5–13, whose families have a modest income. It's a full ride to Tate's School — one of Knoxville's most beloved independent schools, situated on 54 acres and serving pre-K through 8th grade. Applications are open now through June 12th, and require documented proof of a parent's first responder status.

Amadeus Concert Ensemble closes its 2025–2026 season in grand fashion with Rachmaninoff & Friends - a free concert on May 31st at 5:30 PM at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (711 S. Northshore Drive). The evening features the Knoxville debut of South Korean soprano Sunwoo Park, winner of the prestigious 2025 William Sullivan Foundation Award, performing works by Rachmaninoff, Alyabyev, and Tchaikovsky - including a special performance of the Sleeping Beauty Waltz and "Once Upon a Dream," dedicated as a tribute to Knoxville's own Mary Costa, the voice of Disney's Sleeping Beauty.

The ACE orchestra will also thrill audiences with Glinka's Overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila and Rimsky-Korsakov's beloved "Flight of the Bumblebee," and the S.O.U.L.S. Youth Choir makes their ACE debut on the same stage.

The program also honors Sergei Rachmaninoff himself - whose statue stands in World's Fair Park commemorating his final career piano recital at UT Knoxville in 1943. Conducting it all: Maestro Brian Salesky, one of the most accomplished conductors in Knoxville's history.

Camp Webb runs June 1st through July 24th and offers more than 70 summer camps - welcoming kids from age 4 (Camp Wonderoo for pre-K) through rising 7th graders for a summer packed with adventure, sports, specialty skills, and memories.
