Tennessee Just Made it a Lot Easier to Find Veterans Support

Governor Bill Lee and Tennessee Department of Veterans Services Commissioner Tommy Baker have officially launched the Veterans Connect Portal - a new statewide platform built to help service members, Veterans, and military families cut through the noise and actually find the support they've earned. The portal is live now at tnveteransconnect.tn.gov and is available to all of Tennessee's more than 430,000 Veterans, no matter where they live in the state.

The Veterans Connect Portal brings together services across employment, healthcare, housing, education, and community programs into a single, trusted destination - so instead of piecing together resources from a dozen different agencies and organizations, Veterans and their families have one clear starting point. The platform also helps Veteran Service Organizations, local governments, and agency partners better coordinate with each other and follow through on connecting individuals to the services they need.

The portal launched in recognition of Armed Forces Day and reflects the state's pledge to honor military service not just in words - but in action. If you or someone you love has served, this is worth bookmarking today. More Info

Blue Ridge Yoga is Turning Eleven - and Celebrating with an $11 Offer

Blue Ridge Yoga (623 N. Campbell Station Rd) in Farragut is marking its 11th anniversary with something genuinely generous: from May 20th through June 1st, new students and returning members (away for more than a year) can grab a one-month unlimited membership for just $11 - normally $49.

That's unlimited in-studio classes, unlimited livestream classes, access to the on-demand video library, and monthly workshops and community events, all for less than most people spend on coffee in a week. No contracts, no strings attached.

Over the past eleven years, the studio has helped raise more than $200,000 for local nonprofits - from the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley and Zoo Knoxville to Centro Hispano de East Tennessee and Bridge Refugee Services. Classes are taught by instructors with a wide range of backgrounds and styles, and whether you're brand new to yoga or have been practicing for years, the studio prides itself on being a place where people actually feel at home.

Additional discounts are available for families, teachers, students, and military members. Their website will show the $11 membership offer starting on May 20th. In the meantime, to learn more about Blue Ridge Yoga, click here.

Find Out What Makes Tennessee Whiskey Tennessee Whiskey

It's not just bourbon with a different label — and this class will prove it. Tennessee Whiskey 202 is coming to The Vault Room on June 4th at 6:30 PM, presented by Liquor Vault and Whiskey University - and this isn't your average tasting.

It's a guided deep dive into what actually sets Tennessee whiskey apart: the process, the history, the science, and the story behind the spirit that's been made right here in this region for generations.

You'll sample six Tennessee whiskeys side by side, with a shared appetizer included to complement the experience. Whether you're a casual whiskey drinker or already chasing your Whiskey University certification, this is the kind of class that changes how you taste.

Spots are limited - this sells out fast - so grab yours before June 4th sneaks up on you. More Info & Tickets

12 Free Concerts. 21 World Premieres = One Wild Week in Knoxville

Nief-Norf SYNNERGY comes to Knoxville June 24th–27th - a four-day contemporary music festival and conference that's genuinely unlike anything else happening in East Tennessee this summer. Think cutting-edge new music performed live by world-class artists, with 12 free public concerts woven throughout the week. No ticket required. Just show up and listen.

The lineup is stacked: 21 world premieres will be performed during the festival, alongside landmark works like Steve Reich's iconic "Drumming" and "Music for 18 Musicians" — two pieces that changed the landscape of American music and are rarely performed live anywhere. The acclaimed Bergamot Quartet is among the featured ensembles, joining 45 performing artists and 25 composers for a week of music that pushes boundaries without losing the thread of what makes live performance extraordinary.

For musicians, composers, and serious listeners, the full SYNNERGY conference is available on a pay-what-you-can basis (suggested $40+) - an unusually accessible entry point for a professional-level event of this caliber. More Info

Why People Are Sharing Their Credit Karma Scores With This Local Coach

Mikey Caloca says that line on a video to anyone thinking about joining his community, and on the surface it sounds like the kind of thing every online creator says. But Mikey's Money House is genuinely a different setup than most.

It's not a course. It's not Mikey-on-a-stage. It's a few hundred regular people - most of them rebuilding credit, climbing out of debt, or trying to figure out a side hustle - actually talking to each other. Members share their progress, members help each other, and Mikey jumps in too. He gives out gift cards every week to people who post wins ("like it is candy," in his words), spins a wheel live, and uses the whole thing as a way to keep people accountable.

His pitch to new members is about as un-guru as it gets:

"I just want you to get better with your money."

If you've tried the YouTube-rabbit-hole version of fixing your finances and it didn't stick, this is the opposite of that. Three live classes a week. A curriculum you can start tonight. A room full of people doing the same work.
