Support Knoxville Youth - Shop the Rummage Sale this Weekend or Donate Items for the Sale

A great cause, a great deal, and a great way to help local kids. First Lutheran Church and School is hosting a Youth Rummage Sale this weekend - and there are two ways to get involved.
If you have items to donate, drop-offs are welcome today - May 20th from 12:30 PM–8 PM and May 21st from 8 AM–8 PM at 1207 North Broadway. Every donation goes directly toward supporting the church's youth program.
Then, if you love a good treasure hunt, mark your calendar for the sale itself on Friday - Saturday, May 22nd–23rd from 8 AM–3 PM. Rummage sales like this one are where the good finds live - and knowing your purchase is helping local young people makes it even better.
Stop by, donate, shop, or do both. Either way, you're making a difference for Knoxville's next generation.
Boots, Burgers & a Real Barn Dance at RiverView Family Farm

RiverView Family Farm (12130 Prater Lane) is throwing a Barn Dance on June 20th from 6:00 PM–9:30 PM - an open-to-the-public evening of live line dancing instruction, great food, and the kind of genuine good time that's hard to find. Volunteer Line Dance leads the dancing all night, so whether you've got two left feet or you've been two-stepping since birth, you'll fit right in.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, and that's also when the RiverView Black Angus Cheeseburgers start coming off the grill - because what's a barn dance without something worth eating?
Admission is just $10 per person, and children under 5 get in free. With 3.5 hours of dancing, food, and fresh air on a beautiful farm property, this is the kind of summer Saturday that Knoxville does best.

The Knoxville Ice Cream Festival - Ice Cream, Inflatables, and a Petting Zoo

The Knoxville Ice Cream Festival returns to the World's Fair Park Festival Lawn on June 6th from 11 AM–6 PM — and it's completely free to attend. This is the kind of event that checks every box for a perfect summer day out: cold treats, sunshine, live entertainment, and something fun for every member of the family.
The main draw is the frozen lineup itself — a park full of ice cream trucks, sno cones, popsicles, and local vendors including Irvey's Ice Cream, known for their bold flavors, creamy texture, and locally made scoops. Sample your way through the crowd, enter the ice cream eating contest for a festival highlight, or just find your flavor and settle in on the lawn.
Beyond the sweets, kids will love the inflatables, face painting, and a petting zoo with rabbits and chickens, while adults can browse shopping vendors and grab lunch from food trucks serving hot dogs, burgers, and more. It's a free Saturday in Knoxville with ice cream.
Thinking About Homeschooling?

Ms TC's Homeschool Information Event comes to the New Harvest Park Farmers Market on May 27th at 6 PM — a welcoming, practical evening designed for families who are curious about homeschooling, new to it, or just trying to figure out where to start.
A printed booklet packed with resources is included, and the event covers the questions most families have but don't know who to ask: what co-ops are and what to expect from them, whether an umbrella school is right for your family, where to find field trip discounts, how to set up your own field trips, and a curated list of homeschool-owned businesses so families can support each other throughout the journey.
Admission is $20 per family. If you have curriculum to sell, you can reserve a table for just $5 — table sellers may arrive at 5 PM to set up. Sign up here
