What every home buyer should know before touring homes

If you're thinking about buying a home, you may be surprised to learn that real estate rules have changed in recent years. Before touring homes with an agent, buyers are required to sign an agreement outlining how the agent will represent them.
For many buyers, this can feel intimidating—especially if they're just beginning their home search and aren't sure who they want to work with yet.
The good news is that not all buyer agreements are the same. Some are limited to a single property or a short period of time, while others may last for several months. Before signing any agreement, it's important to understand how long it lasts, what obligations it creates, and how it can be terminated if needed.
Your real estate agent should be willing to explain the agreement, answer your questions, and help you understand your options before you sign. Buying a home is a major decision, and it's important to feel comfortable not only with the home you choose, but also with the professional helping you navigate the process.
As always, if you have questions about buying a home in East Tennessee, we're here to help educate and guide you along the way. Because at SCH Real Estate, our philosophy is simple: No Sales. Just Service. schrealestate.net 865-393-9336
