Fresh-Grown Vegetables, 24/7 at the Honor System Farm Stand

Sometimes the best produce find isn't at a market — it's a little roadside stand run on trust.
A family farm stand at 740 Ailor Gap Road in Maynardville is stocked with naturally grown, fresh-picked vegetables and open around the clock on the honor system. No set hours, no cashier, no line — just show up whenever it's convenient, pick what you want, and pay what's marked. Cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, green peppers, tomatoes, and more fill the baskets, with most priced at $5 per basket. They also carry Papa's Magic Mix Fertilizer if you're growing your own.
Payment is easy: there's a cash box in the wall, plus Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, and debit or credit cards are all accepted. Everything is naturally grown and fresh from the farm.
If you're in the Maynardville area and want to skip the grocery store run for your summer vegetables, this is worth checking out!
Friends of the Library's Book Fair for Adults

Remember the Scholastic Book Fair? This is that, but grown up and significantly better.
Friends of the Knox County Public Library is hosting the Book Fair for Adults on September 26th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the East Tennessee History Center (601 S Gay St) — and it's free to get in. The event brings together local independent bookstores and book-loving vendors under one roof for an afternoon of browsing, community, and a few surprises built in.
Every guest receives a complimentary bookish mocktail while supplies last. At 3:00 PM, local real estate agent Courtney Winters hosts a Bookish Trivia competition with prizes donated by the attending vendors — a nice way to round out the afternoon if you want to put your reading knowledge to the test.
The vendor lineup reads like a who's-who of Knoxville's independent book scene: Mis Amores (the Romance Bookshop Café), The Hive Bookshop, Good Girl Books, The Bottom, and more. All local, all community-supporting.

O'Connor Senior Center is hosting a Crafters Yard Sale on August 8th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 611 Winona Street, and shoppers get in free. The sale features new and gently used craft supplies, handmade goodies, and the kind of unexpected treasures that tend to turn up when crafters clear out their stashes. Whether you're restocking your supplies on the cheap or just love the browse, this is a fun Saturday morning stop.
Have a table full of craft supplies you'd like to sell? Vendors are still being accepted. Register online or contact Brenda directly for details ([email protected] or (865) 523-1135.
