I'm 63 With $1.5M. Can I Spend $10K a Month?

You’ve saved $1.5 million. Now comes the real test.

Can it produce $10,000 a month, or will that pace drain your portfolio?

Most retirees do not get a clear answer until it is too late.

The issue is not just how much you have. It is whether your portfolio was built to pay you, not just grow.

That difference can determine whether your money lasts decades or starts breaking down early.

Sequence of returns, taxes on withdrawals, healthcare costs, and whether the 4% rule still applies all play a role.

Fiduciary advisors created a breakdown showing what drives sustainable income and why the same $1.5M can produce very different outcomes.

If you have $1M or more invested, do not guess.

Vintage Market Days Returns

Vintage Market Days® of Knoxville returns to the Knoxville Expo Center (5441 Clinton Hwy) for a full weekend — September 18th through Sunday, September 20th (Friday and Saturday from 10 AM, Sunday wrapping at 3 PM) — with the theme "An American Story." It's an upscale vintage market experience with carefully curated vendors, a live DJ keeping the energy up all weekend, and a full lineup of local food and treats to enjoy while you browse.

You'll find vintage, antiques, vintage-inspired pieces, home decor, art, handcrafted goods, candles, boutique clothing, and vintage clothing — the kind of market where you come for one thing and leave with five things you didn't know you needed. There are also fun photo opportunities and vendors you genuinely won't find anywhere else. More Info

A Welcoming Space for Caregivers to Breathe, Connect, and Recharge

Caring for a loved one is one of the most meaningful things a person can do. It can also be exhausting in ways that are hard to put into words — especially when you feel like you're doing it alone.

The Pointe at Lifespring hosts a free, monthly Caregiver Support Group on the second Thursday of each month from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at 4371 Lifespring Lane — and the next gathering is September 10th. It's a welcoming, no-pressure space where caregivers can come together to share their experiences, learn from others who truly get it, and connect with experts in the field of memory care who are there to offer real support.

Whether you're deep in the caregiving journey or just beginning to navigate it, this group exists for you. There's no agenda beyond showing up and letting the people around you make it a little lighter.

The group meets monthly — September 10th, October 8th, and beyond. All are welcome.

Artisan Chocolate Meets Premium Tea in a Guided Tasting

The Kraken's Cup Tearoom and Schakolad Chocolate Factory have teamed up for A Chocola-TEA Experience: Tea and Chocolate Pairing — a guided flavor adventure on Wednesday, September 23rd at 6 PM at The Kraken's Cup (4815 N Broadway, Suite 107). Schakolad brings the artisan chocolate from their Turkey Creek shop; The Kraken's Cup brings the tea expertise. Together, they'll walk you through what happens when the two are paired with intention.

Your experience includes a guided flight of 4–5 premium Schakolad chocolates, 4–5 curated tea tastings specifically chosen to complement each chocolate's flavor profile, and an educational walkthrough of flavor notes, aromatic profiles, and pairing techniques that will genuinely change how you think about both. It's fun, it's delicious, and it's the kind of event you immediately want to bring your best foodie friend to. More Info

Dog-Safe Foam & a Beer Garden

The Bark hosts Foam Party Fridays every Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at their dog park at 601 Lamar Street — and the setup is exactly as fun as it sounds. A foam machine fills the park with mounds of soft, dog-safe bubbles, turning a regular outing into something your dog will be talking about all week. Some pups dive straight in. Others circle it suspiciously for about thirty seconds before the zoomies kick in. Either way, every dog gets a chance to explore, play, and burn off energy in a totally new environment.

Beyond the fun factor, foam play is genuinely great enrichment — the new textures, movement, and sensory experience help build confidence and keep dogs mentally stimulated. And it's included with your regular dog park visit, so it's not an add-on, it's just a better Friday.

While the dogs play, you've got the beer garden to settle into. Grab a drink, find your people, and enjoy the kind of easy, social atmosphere that makes a Friday evening feel exactly right. Foam Party Fridays run all season long — next up: Friday, August 21st, with many more dates to follow.
