Ijams Hummingbird Festival

August 17th 7am - 1pm

Don’t miss out on a day brimming with fun and discovery at the Ijams Hummingbird Festival! This year’s festival is set to be a memorable experience with a host of exciting activities, a vibrant marketplace, animal encounters, and a speaker series.

Festival Highlights:

  • Live Animal Encounters: Get up close with incredible birds of prey such as owls, hawks, and kestrels. Local rehabilitators will provide insights into these fascinating creatures.

  • Marketplace: Browse a diverse selection of local art, nature-themed items, handcrafted creations, and garden essentials from local nurseries and vendors.

  • Guided Walks: Explore Ijams' trails with expert naturalists. Enjoy guided walks focused on bird-related topics and appreciate the natural wonders of the area. (Accessible walks are available!)

  • Educational Booths and Activities: Engage in hands-on educational activities for all ages under the big tent. Learn and celebrate the wonders of birds and all things winged.

  • Kids' Nature Zone: A special area for kids to explore nature through art projects, crafts, experiments, and interactive challenges. Kids can become junior naturalists with the help of expert educators!

Ticket Information:

  • General Festival and Marketplace Admission (excludes bird banding session):

    • Adults (ages 13+): $12

    • Children (ages 3-12): $9

Exodus - The Bob Marley Tribute

Exodus, led by the acclaimed Lazo, has earned widespread recognition for its exceptional reggae performances. Honored as the Top Reggae Performer of the Year by the Canadian Reggae Music Awards, Lazo's talent has been further validated by multiple Juno nominations, including a Juno Award in 2000 for Best Reggae Recording for his “Heart and Soul” CD. His compositions, such as “Love Is on Your Side” and the 1995 album “Something Real,” have also received Juno nominations.

Described as infectious, Exodus’ reggae music is known for its ability to instantly uplift and energize audiences, inducing smiles, an irresistible urge to dance, and an overall sense of well-being. Recent reviews highlight Exodus as one of the best Bob Marley tributes, praised for superb musicianship and a compelling stage presence.

Marine Corps Mud Run

Sign-Up Event – August 13th!

Get ready to get muddy and sign up for the Marine Corps Mud Run, happening on August 31st! Join us for a special sign-up event at The Casual Pint Northshore on August 13th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., hosted in partnership with radio station 103.5.

This is your chance to register for the Mud Run, meet fellow participants, and enjoy a great evening out. Plus, Drip into Wellness will be at the Mud Run, offering post-run mini IV Hydration for rehydration and muscle recovery ($95). I’ll also be at The Casual Pint to answer any questions you may have about IV Hydration and how it can benefit your recovery.

And here’s a special perk: If you sign up for the Mud Run before August 15th, you’ll receive a free B12 shot!

August Boat Drinks Cruise!

Ahoy, Parrotheads! It’s time to break out your Hawaiian shirts, dust off your flip-flops, and set sail for the East TN Parrothead Club's annual Boat Drinks Cruise on August 17, 2024. This year, we're cruising with a cause—benefiting the Alzheimer's Association of Tennessee (ALZ, TN).

Get ready for a night of tropical tunes and nautical fun as we embark on a lively evening filled with great music and even better company. Can you operate a “Coconut Telegraph” or have you ever set sail on the “Pascagoula Run”? If you haven’t committed a “Great Filling Station Holdup” yet, this is your chance to experience the ultimate Parrothead adventure!

Our entertainment for the evening will feature Liquid Velvet, a 70s and 80s band that will keep you dancing and singing along all night long. The cruise departs promptly at 9:00 pm, so make sure to arrive early to secure your spot and get into the party spirit.

Tickets are priced at $20 for club members (a special code will be provided) and $25 for non-members. Please note that this is a 21 and up event—no exceptions! While food is not included, you’ll have access to two full bars where you can enjoy our bartenders’ renditions of “Boat Drinks.”
