Old Time Jam at Boyd's Jig & Reel

Get ready to experience the sounds of Appalachian heritage at the Old Time Jam with Sarah Pirkle, happening at Boyd’s Jig & Reel, 101 S Central Street, on Tuesday, October 15th at 6:30pm. This unique session invites musicians and music lovers to gather for an evening steeped in tradition, featuring strings-only performances of classic Old Time fiddle tunes.

Whether you're a seasoned player or simply enjoy the toe-tapping rhythm of Appalachian music, this jam is open to all. The musicians sit together, creating an intimate circle as they pick and strum tunes on fiddles, guitars, and bass, with no formal breaks. The spirit of the event is inclusive, so if you’re eager to join, you don’t need to bring an instrument — simply grab one from the wall and take a seat.

Dancers are welcome too, adding to the lively atmosphere, as the melodies of the past echo through the room. Please note, no percussion instruments are allowed, keeping the focus on the strings that embody the soulful Appalachian legacy.

Mark your calendar and come join this community of musicians at Boyd’s Jig & Reel for a night of timeless tunes and fellowship! More Info
