Empower Your Home and Career at KUB's Energy Savings Tips Expo and Job Fair
The Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) is hosting an expo and job fair on Thursday, March 21st at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley from 2pm - 6:30 pm. This event offers the Knoxville community an opportunity to learn about energy and water savings, sustainable living, and KUB's services in electric, fiber, natural gas, and wastewater. Highlights include hands-on demonstrations, information on KUB's developing fiber system, tips for reducing energy use, a kids' activity station, and insights into career opportunities with KUB.
This initiative aligns with KUB's commitment to engaging with customers and improving services for over 486,000 customers in the region.
Man Found Deceased Following Medically-Caused Bike Incident
In Fountain City, a 60-year-old man was found dead late Wednesday night in what was initially thought to be a bike crash on Adair Drive near Carol Road. Knoxville Police later stated that the incident was likely due to the man's pre-existing medical conditions, not a crash. His body has been sent to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center for a cause of death determination.
Knoxville Police Launch 'Take Me Home' Program to Safeguard Individuals with Disabilities
The Knoxville Police Department has launched "Take Me Home," a program aiding families of individuals with cognitive or developmental disabilities, including autism, dementia, and Alzheimer's. It allows the registration of emergency contacts and vital information for those living, working, or studying in Knoxville to assist in their quick and safe return if they go missing or are found alone.
The initiative aims to reduce risks for missing individuals with such disabilities. Families can enroll their loved ones in the program via the KPD website, enhancing their safety and peace of mind.
